June is National Safety Month! It is important to encourage a safety culture within the workplace, supporting all team members and giving them the resources that they need to protect themselves. National Safety Month is presented by the National Safety Council and encourages workplaces to think critically about their approach to safety, always encouraging companies to grow and develop new and improved safety protocols. June’s safety topics included discussions about creating a company culture of safety, driving, COVID-19 Safety, and more!
National Safety Month encourages organizations to address all forms of safety, bringing attention to aspects that some companies let fall through the cracks – such as topics that can be difficult to discuss (like mental health) and issues regarding the prevention of daily wear (like ergonomics).
Prime prides itself on putting employee safety first and going beyond just providing the proper equipment and training. We want to make sure that our entire Prime team feels confident and supported during every day and every task. Over the past few months, we have been reviewing our employee handbook, Injury and Illness Prevention Plan, and COVID-19 Policies and Procedures. We want to make sure that the Prime Team has every resource available and is prepared for any situation. Over the next few weeks, we will be unrolling a new employee handbook and IIPP, as well as new COVID-19 policies to keep our Prime team staying safe and feeling peace of mind. Finally, new and exciting training sessions should be available for our Foremen and management.
